Managing communications for Australia's biggest public event

Attracting more than 2.3 million visitors to Sydney every year, Vivid Sydney is the largest celebration of light, music and ideas in the southern hemisphere. 

My role at Destination NSW was to focus 100% on Vivid Sydney for 2018. That involved managing media materials and approvals for more than 40 stakeholders, all outgoing comms about the event from Destination NSW and managing our partner agency. It involved being across all aspects of the event which sees hundreds of light sculptures, artists, performers and speakers take part. 

Media highlights I was involved in included: early morning Sunrise weather crosses, an exclusive James Cameron interview with Spectrum, ABC coverage of a sculpture made from algae from the UTS and promoting the story of May Gibbs' creations Snugglepot and Cuddlepie coming to life on the façade of Customs House. 

The volume of media coverage achieved was more than 8,000 pieces of coverage in a five month timeframe.
